Day 1 Overnight: Jeffrey’s Bay/ Tsitsikamma

Jeffrey’s Bay, world-wide known by surfers. Tsitsikamma, situated in the forest region.

Day 2 Overnight: Plettenberg Bay/ Knysna

The heart of one of South Africa’s most popular tourism regions.

Distance traveled: 100 km, 2 hours relaxed driving

Day 3 Overnight: Mossel Bay

Popular stop-over for mariners of the 1400’s and 1500’s.

Distance traveled: 110 km, 2 hours relaxed driving

Day 4 Overnight: Swellendam

Historical capital of the Overberg, with beautiful mountain range as a back-drop.

Distance traveled: 170 km, 3 hours relaxed driving

Arniston, with its authentic fishermen's cottages, is always a popular stop.

Day 5 Overnight: L’Agulhas/Arniston Distance traveled: 110 km, 2 hours relaxed driving Close to the southern-most tip of Africa. Day 6 Overnight: Hermanus/ Onrust For the best land-based whale watching in the world. Distance traveled: 140 km, 2 hours relaxed driving Day 7 Overnight Cape Town Distance traveled: 140 km, 2 hours relaxed driving

Cape Town to Johannesburg or Johannesburg to Cape Town

Day 1-3 Overnight: In Cape Winelands OR Cape Town area

Day 1. Arrive at Cape Town airport in the morning. Car will be ready at the airport. At an additional fee guests can be transfered to the guest house if they do not want to be confronted with South Africa’s left-hand driving immediately on arrival

Day 2 & 3 A Wineland- and a Cape Point self-drive tour.

Day 4 Winelands - Hermanus

Travel via the coastal road to Hermanus for whale watching, or take the inland route over the mountains to experience the fruit industry at Elgin/ Grabouw.

Distance traveled: 150 km, + 2 hours relaxed driving

Day 5 Hermanus to L’Agulhas.

L’Agulhas, the southern-most point of Africa.

Distance traveled: 140 km, 2 hours relaxed driving

Day 6 L’Agulhas to Mossel Bay

Drive past Swellendam or take a shortcut (dirt road) over the only South African pontoon stil operating, at Malgas. Most of the way is wheat growing and sheep farming country.

Distance traveled: 270 km, +/- 4 hours relaxed driving

Visitors to Ostrich Farms in Oudtshoorn may even fancy a ride on these flightless birds.

Day 7 Travel inland to Oudtshoorn, ride an ostrich, then drive over the Swartberg Pass to the Karoo town of Prince Albert and then through Meiring's Poort back to Oudtshoorn. (Swartberg Pass = dirt road) This will be a long but rewarding day. Covering a short distance, but much to experience. Distance traveled: 250 km, 5 - 6 hours relaxed driving Day 8 Oudtshoorn to Tsitsikamma Drive through the indigenous forests of the Garden route. Visit the towns of George, Knysna and Plettenberg Bay Distance traveled: 220 km, +/- 3 hours relaxed driving Day 9 Tsitsikamma to Grahamstown This part of the route will take you past Port Elizabeth on your way to the heart of (British) Settler's Country. Distance traveled: 350 km, + 4 hours relaxed driving

Day 10 Grahamstown to North Eastern Cape

Passing old British Settler's towns of King William's Town, Stutterheim and Queenstown to a working farm in a less well known part of the Eastern Cape.

Distance traveled: 300 km, +/- 4 hours relaxed driving

Day 11 North Eastern Cape and Eastern Free State

This is a seldom travelled route with beautiful natural scenery and an excellent tourism infrastructure.

Distance traveled: 350 km, +/- 4-5 hours relaxed driving

Day 12 Eastern Free State and Drakensberg

The first part of this journey will take you through one of the most beautiful and lesser known areas in South Africa, including a drive through the Golden Gate National Park. Take the opportunity to visit a traditional Sotho cultural village.

Distance traveled: 240 km, +/- 3 hours relaxed driving

Day 13 Day of leisure in the Drakensberg mountain area.

Day 14 Drakensberg to KwaZulu-Natal's Dolphin Coast.

Safe driving along the N3 toll roads to Durban and the coast.

Distance traveled: 270 km,+/- 3 hours relaxed driving

Day 15 Dolphin Coast - Zulu Country

You are now entering a malaria area, so you will have to take prophylactic medication. The same is applicable if you do travel from Gauteng to Mpumalanga and Northern KwaZulu-Natal.

Drive along the N2 to St Lucia and then proceed to a private game lodge close to Swaziland.

Distance traveled: 330 km, +/- 4 hours relaxed driving

Day 16 Stay over for a day of leisure with optional game drives in the Mkuze Game Reserve.

Day 17 Swaziland

Experience this hidden peaceful kingdom of Africa. Overnight in Baberton or Badplaas districts.

Distance traveled: 440 km, +/- 5 hours relaxed driving

Day 18 Enjoy the beauty of scenic country roads through the Lowveld.

Distance traveled: + 200 km, +/-3 hours relaxed driving

Day 19 Stay over in the Lowveld for a second night.

A day of game viewing in the Kruger Park

Day 20 Drive to Pretoria.

Distance traveled: 450 km, +/- 6 hours relaxed driving

Day 21 Move on to Johannesburg or stay in Pretoria. Take the evening flight back to Europe.
