Day 7
Travel inland to Oudtshoorn, ride an ostrich, then drive over the Swartberg Pass to the
Karoo town of Prince Albert and then through Meiring's Poort back to Oudtshoorn.
(Swartberg Pass = dirt road) This will be a long but rewarding day. Covering a short
distance, but much to experience. Distance traveled: 250 km, 5 - 6 hours relaxed driving Day 8 Oudtshoorn to Tsitsikamma Drive through the indigenous forests of the Garden route. Visit the towns of George, Knysna and Plettenberg Bay Distance traveled: 220 km, +/- 3 hours relaxed driving Day 9 Tsitsikamma to Grahamstown This part of the route will take you past Port Elizabeth on your way to the heart of (British) Settler's Country. Day 10 Grahamstown to North Eastern Cape
Passing old British Settler's towns of King William's Town, Stutterheim and Queenstown to a working farm in a less well known part of the Eastern Cape.

Day 11 North Eastern Cape and Eastern Free State
This is a seldom travelled route with beautiful natural scenery and an excellent tourism infrastructure.

Day 12 Eastern Free State and Drakensberg
The first part of this journey will take you through one of the most beautiful and lesser known areas in South Africa, including a drive through the Golden Gate National Park. Take the opportunity to visit a traditional Sotho cultural village.
Distance traveled: 240 km, +/- 3 hours relaxed driving
Day 13 Day of leisure in the Drakensberg mountain area.
Day 14 Drakensberg to KwaZulu-Natal's Dolphin Coast.
Safe driving along the N3 toll roads to Durban and the coast.

Day 15 Dolphin Coast - Zulu Country
You are now entering a malaria area, so you will have to take prophylactic medication. The same is applicable if you do travel from Gauteng to Mpumalanga and Northern KwaZulu-Natal.
Drive along the N2 to St Lucia and then proceed to a private game lodge close to Swaziland.

Day 16 Stay over for a day of leisure with optional game drives in the Mkuze Game Reserve.
Day 17 Swaziland
Experience this hidden peaceful kingdom of Africa. Overnight in Baberton or Badplaas districts.

Day 18 Enjoy the beauty of scenic country roads through the Lowveld.
